Looking for Leprechauns!!

When the students came to school this morning, they found that the leprechauns had used their toilet last night! The toilet water was green! To the kindergarten students in my room - this was the most wonderful thing that could have happened! The students also found a note in the bathroom from a leprechaun thanking them for letting them play in their classroom, but asking them for help because one of the leprechauns lost their shoes.  They promised to come back with a pot of gold at the end of the day if we could find their shoes!

The students noticed that the leprechauns left letters all around the classroom. They used clipboards going around the classroom looking for all the alphabet letter. Looking for letters was an idea from  kindergarten kiosk. 1. thanks for visiting my blog:) love all your leprechaun visit photos! I also teach kindergarten and serve the special needs students in kindergarten in our inclusion classroom. Most of the services for my students do not require a full time in class co-teacher, but I do have a co-teacher and supportive instruction (parapro) throughout the day based upon the students' needs...not to mention the help of my full time parapro. Sounds like out classrooms may be similar. How many special needs students do you usually provide services for in your class each year? (this class was rotated around in the past, but once I arrived in Kinder, I wanted this class each year - they teach you many life lessons - especially patience and love:)

  2. Kimberlee- I am so glad that we are new blog friends! It does sound like our classrooms are similar. This year we have six students who have special needs in our classroom and 17 students in the class. I think you said it perfectly when you said teaching in an inclusion classroom teaches you patience and love. I love that!

  4. I had five last year & four at the beginning of this year, but one moved. We also have 17 total students. Just got word that we will have 13 special needs students coming to K!! WOW! With this number, I am afraid they will split them. So happy to have met you!!

  5. Hi Kimberlee- We are also expecting a large number of students with special needs next year. I am also nervous they will split them and take away my co-teacher due to budget concerns. It sounds like we have so much in common!
